Hi! I’m D’ondra (pronounced Dee-ondra)! I am so excited you stopped by! I am a Sacramento faith blogger who is new to the blogging world but loving it thus far. I keep a journal of the things the Lord has shared with me, some things are just for me, while others are too good not to share. What better way to share it than with a blog for the world to read. God has placed blogging on my heart for a few months now and I figured, why not jump in head first …well, I think the Lord wanted me to because of the calling He’s placed on my life. I thought I was going to be blogging about what He has given me in the past…boy was I wrong. (Isn’t that just like the Lord, to take your plans and change them up on you?! Well, I’m glad He did!) Everything I have blogged about thus far has literally happend to me the week I posted it. The good thing is, I’m learning and getting breakthrough along the way and I’m loving every bit of it. Well, to be honest, I’m loving the part where I understand why I go through it :)!
Now…for the fun stuff 🙂
I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA by a single mom. I didn’t have my dad around a lot growing up so it gave me this closeness to my mom. Seeing her be strong and raise 4 girls on her own made me who I am today. At times, we were all we had, so we became really close. My mom is like the big sister I never had. We could talk about anything. My mom became my best friend and I thank God for her. We moved around a lot when I was younger, but we always stayed in Sacramento. I would love to live anywhere other than Sacramento. My husband, Aaron doesn’t want to move because he’s lived in other cities before and he says he doesn’t want to move around with the kids…I get it, so, I hope he just takes me on a vacation to a place I’ve never been every so often and we’ll be good :)! I am 33 years old. People tell me all the time I don’t look my age. I’d have to say I agree with them. The fun part for me is watching people try to guess my age (they always reach higher than the original age they were going to go with because I asked them to guess).
I am married to my high school sweetheart and we’ve been married for almost 14 years! He joined the Air Force in 2012 and since then I have become a stay at home mom. We have 3 daughters, Kaylah, 13, Jada, 9, and Eryn, 6. They are my world…literally! Everything I do is for them…seriously! I love my babies, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, because after all, the Lord did bless me with 3 beautiful children.
Our kids are super active…I mean, for real! Kaylah plays soccer, that never ends…she plays year round. Jada plays basketball, and Eryn plays soccer as well. We just put them all in track and now I run around making sure all the kids are at the correct practice on the correct days! Yay me!!
I am the oldest of 6 (2 brothers on my dad’s side I don’t get to see often) and 3 sisters that I grew up with. Me and my sisters are super close…like, super duper close. We’re with each other so much that when my mom can’t get a hold of one of my sisters, she calls and asks if they are with me…we’re with each other that much. I love them with every fiber of my being. I have 2 nephews and 3 neices. My youngest nephew makes me want to have a son, but my husband isn’t going for that…he seems to think he only makes girls. So far, he’s been correct, but he doesn’t want to prove me wrong :)! It is funny watching him squirm when I talk to him about having another child though (he hee hee!)
I am a naturally curly haired mama that loves the freeness it gives me. I big chopped in April of 2014 and I love it. I saw a post on Facebook a while ago that said, guys, find you a natural lady because it’s like having 2 women, lol. I thought that was so funny because I think I look different when my hair is straight vs when it’s curly. What do you think?! Aaron prefers it straight, but it’s my hair and right now, I’m rocking the curly look! 🙂
My family is big and loud and when we get together we have a great time. We laugh and joke around all the time. When someone has a birthday we end up at a buffet and spend hours hanging out talking and laughing and just fellowshipping with one another…I love it!! I love our closeness. We have each other’s back and we all know if someone needs us, we’re always there to lend a helping hand.
We do a bible study on Saturday’s and it’s just awesome to hear each other’s testimonies. I know they encourage me when I need it. That’s what I hope my blog does for you…encourages you, inspires you to share your testimony, and helps you take the next step of faith. I love to read your comments, they make my heart happy. So, when you stop by, sprinkle a little love in the comment field…I read and respond to them!
Hope this helps you get to know me and I hope to get to know you a little better. Love you guys!!
